Training Join Links
A training join link lets attendees into your namespace without waiting for you to add them one by one. Anyone who opens the link and logs in to the NRP is added to the namespace. You can also have the link give each attendee an LLM API key. When the training ends, people the link added are removed again.
What attendees get
- Membership of the namespace, until access ends.
- Kubernetes
editaccess, if the namespace has Kubernetes enabled. This is the same access any member of the namespace has. - An LLM API key, if you turned on Also give each attendee an LLM API key. This option is only offered on namespaces with LLM access.
Use a namespace set up for the training if attendees should not see your other work.
Before you start
- You must be an admin of the namespace.
- Decide how long access should last. It can last at most 90 days.
Create a link
- Open Namespaces and select the namespace.
- In Training join links, enter a training name, the maximum number of attendees, when joins stop being accepted, and when access ends. On namespaces with LLM access, choose whether attendees also get an LLM API key.
- Select Create join link, then copy the link from the table and share it with attendees.
What attendees see
The link opens the Join a Training page. Attendees log in to the NRP with their institution, or another provider offered on the login page. Their first login creates their NRP account. They are then added to the namespace and told when their access ends.
- If the link gives LLM keys, the page shows the attendee’s key and the base URL to use. If they lose the key, they can open the link again. That replaces their training key and doesn’t use up another seat.
- If the namespace has Kubernetes enabled, the page points them to the
kubectlsetup instructions.
When the training ends
- Revoke stops new joins. People who already joined keep access until it ends.
- End now stops new joins and removes attendees within 15 minutes.
- At the access end date, everyone the link added is removed from the namespace within 15 minutes, and you get an email summary. Their LLM keys in the namespace are revoked a few minutes later. A
kubectllogin they already had can keep working for up to 30 more minutes, until its token expires.
People who were already members of the namespace, people you added yourself, and namespace admins are never removed. Attendees keep their NRP accounts, so their usage stays in NRP reports.
