7NRP Workshop — Travel Support
The Prototype National Research Platform (PNRP) is extending participant support costs (PSC) to support registration and travel expenses to those from non-R-1 and/or EPSCoR colleges to attend 7NRP.
About the Workshop
The 7NRP Workshop will take place at UC San Diego in La Jolla, California from Tuesday, May 5, 2026 through Thursday, May 7th. The workshop will start with a day of tutorials on Tuesday, May 5th. The workshop will cover both the current state of NRP as well as its future direction, AI technology in agriculture, AI education on NRP, science on NRP, among others.
About NRP
NRP is a community-owned research and education platform connecting researchers and educators to foster collaboration, accelerate innovation, and share resources. Supported by over 80 institutions, including leadership from UC San Diego, the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, and the Massachusetts Green High Performance Computing Center, the NRP provides access to cutting-edge technologies in AI, high-performance computing, data storage, and networking. Open to all nonprofit higher education institutions, from community colleges to top research universities, the NRP advances learning and scientific breakthroughs with support from the U.S. National Science Foundation, Department of Energy, and Department of Defense among others.
Travel Support
This support is made possible from the National Artificial Intelligence Research Resource (NAIRR). The program will provide a limited number of travel awards to cover registration and support travel expenses. The funding is designed to support:
- Registration + up to $500 for guests within driving distance
- Registration + up to $1,000 for guests using air transportation

- Name
- Institution
- Whether you are requesting $1,099 (driver) or $1,599 (air traveler)
Once reviewed, we will confirm support and provide a guidance document to ensure all university policy is met in utilizing this support.
